Search the Internet for information about crossdressing and you will soon uncover abundant, explicit material depicting the lowest common denominator of human conduct.

Sadly, these extreme examples - people with so little self respect they have nothing left to lose - only perpetuate the negative perception of crossdressers that persists in Western culture.

We crossdressers don't do ourselves any favors when we choose to follow other paths of least resistance by living down to the most negative social expectations. Neither is it in our best interest when we embrace justifying excuses nor when we seek absolution in victimhood.

Change is happening. Now that more people are showing a willingness to re-examine old images and to consider fresh points of view, we may be among the last generation of men to endure the prejudice of a misinformed culture.

What a magnificent goal!

I do not cheerlead for rights, privileges, protections, or special status. Too much anger and push-back. However, neither will I oppose the efforts of those who believe otherwise. You'll find a few such groups listed on my Links page. Where they and I have similar goals, we differ only in our tactics.

My advocacy is one of open crossdressing.

There is no better way to replace the current phobic stereotype than through increased visibility and individual, positive personal example.

The alternative is more of the same - allowing those at the bottom of the gene pool to define the rest of us in their image.
