To bring these dynamic and inspiring messages to your group:1. Contact me regarding your proposed date and time. If that space on my calendar is available, it's yours.
2. Arrange transportation to the event. Occasionally my business travels allow me to coordinate a date when I'm already 'in the neighborhood' and no extra expenses are incurred. Otherwise, it's round trip, coach class airfare. Some groups redeem members' frequent flyer miles to book the flights.
3. Reserve accommodations in a mid-level hotel or motel that caters to business travellers. I understand how tight budgets are these days but low-end, Motel 6 type places are simply not appropriate. I cannot accept offers of personal hospitality in host's homes, guest houses, etc.
4. Pay my speaking fee, your choice of:
a. $1,000 in cash or check, (less than half my corporate speaking fee - remember, this is my occupation) or;
b. A letter with your group's sincere, honest impressions and feedback - on your organization's stationery - mailed to me within 10 days following the event.In the past I've worked with organizations that use creative methods to offset the expenses. One of the best is to co-op with a larger group that has similar interests and a large membership (ie: your local GLBT center). They charge a minimal fee (or suggest a donation) at the door, split the proceeds among the sponsoring groups, and often share a profit from the occasion. I can also tap my professional resources and expertise to supply promotional material and can often arrange media appearances or interviews to help boost attendance and outreach.
